Lee Memorial Health System (LMHS) and Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) announced today that they have reached agreement on a new contract that enables Humana’s Medicare Advantage members in Southwest Florida to receive care at Lee Memorial Health System’s five area hospitals in Lee County .

Under the new agreement, which is in addition to the existing contract for all Humana commercial products, members of Humana’s Gold Plus and Humana Choice PPO plans will have access to Cape Coral Hospital, Gulf Coast Hospital, HealthPark Medical Center, Lee Memorial Hospital and Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center.   “We are excited to add the Lee Memorial Health System in Southwest Florida to our expanding network of hospitals and health care providers in the area,” said Humana Florida Senior Products CEO Michael Seltzer. “This new contract represents significant progress in our efforts to provide our Medicare members in the Southwest Florida market with the broadest network of quality health care, while offering Humana significant growth opportunities at the same time.”  “We are pleased to expand our relationship with Humana to include our many community members who are covered by a Humana Medicare product.
